Watercolors Old

Watercolor painting is quite a challenge as it must be worked quickly in order to preserve a spontaneous look to it.

A much slower way but also keeping a spontaneous look, is to lay down some soft colors and then, when these are completely dry,  place a complementary color on top.

This produces what is called a “glaze”, wherein the color below influences the color placed on top to form an entirely different color.  One must know how and which colors influence each other.
